Chloe is Still in Premie Isolation. Which means that we have restricted visitors from seeing Chloe until the RSV season is over some time after Tax Season. This is very frustrating for both Cheryl and I, we sometimes feel like a prisoner in our own home and it severly impacts activities such as shopping and the like. The doctor visits are now being reduced dramatically. Instead of one visit to one of Chloe's doctors each week as what happened in January to one visit every two weeks to a doctor. Each visit brings happiness to each of our souls. Each visit means taking her off of a drug or some weird restriction that the NICU imposed on us. Chloe is still under sized for a Preemie -- She is below the curve so to speak on the adjusted preemie scale that I have yet to understand.

| March 21, Chloe saw her lung doctor and he was very happy with her progress. He told us that we can take Chloe to events that we could control human with Chloe. This was great news for both Cheryl and I because now we can take her shopping. Shopping has always been a big issue for us, since Cheryl does not want to drive and Chloe had to stay home, I was left to do all of the shopping while working full time and running a business as well as learning JAVA and the complex architecture that goes with it so that I could get an application out and make my client look very good. Her lung doctor does not want to see her until May 1 and another visit in August. The August visit will decide whether the doctor needs to see her again. That was incredible news, because we were told that it will be at two years before her lungs are those of a normal infant. |

March 24, Cheryl, Chloe and I tried to sneek into Church a few minutes after Church started. Well that did not work, because of both the size of the church and that Chloe was the center of prayer since her conception. This was a special time for us, that as much as we try to be honest of the good and the bad that Chloe has gone through. It was good for all to see that Chloe is doing fine and that it was good that we could personally think the Church for their prayers which sustained us through a most difficult journey. We still had people wash their hands and arms before they could hold Chloe. It was a small price to pay to be able to hold Chloe and a great relief for Cheryl and I that nobody questioned our behavior. Chloe behaved extremely well through all the service.

March 25, 2002, we were contacted by the Radiologist office because we inquired why she had ten x-rays and why we were not informed of. They told us that it is common to take a lot of x-rays for a preemie that has Chronic Lung Disease, and the doctors generally will tell us about the x-rays if something was discovered. The Radiologist office also told us that they were surprised that Chloe had so few X-rays, because preemies like Chloe generally have a whole lot more. All in all, this is better than I can imagine. Early on Cheryl asked me if I believed that Chloe would be born at term. I told her, that “I cannot say that, all I can tell you is that God will do something that we will look back and say Wow!” Wow! PS. her total bill was a lot higher than I could imagine. Feel free to guess. |

| This week (March 29, 2002) we finally get rid of all of her oxygen equipment which she never used. The NICU wanted us to give her one liter of Oxygen at 100% concentration each and every feeding. The lung doctor had the same question we had ("Why?"). We were told that she would be on fluid restrictions for a very long time. Well Chloe is on fluid restrictions, when she stops consuming her formula than that is the restriction which is what you will find in any normal infant.

On March 31, 2002 (Easter Sunday) Chloe was dedicated to the Lord. This was a deep moving moment for both Chery and I and we hope one day for Chloe. As you read Chloe's entire site, you can see that we are really blessed with a exceptionally healthy daughter.
Her pediatrician only wants to see her monthly because of the progress she is making. This is common among full term infants and we are thankfull for this. Her pediatrician tells us that we can take Chloe out into the world, which we have been doing, but we are still very over protected. Her Eye doctor wants to see her 6 months after she left the hospital -- not 3 weeks which is what he wanted to see all of the other preemies. This was so unusual that the NICU doctors thought that the nurse misunderstood the Eye doctor. Cheryl found out that the nurse did -- instead of seeing the Eye doctor on her sixth month birthday it was six months since she left the hospital. This is very good news. |
