I see you were anxious to begin your life; that must be telling of your spirit. I, too, came a bit earlier than expected, but only by a few days.  We still have much in common that each one of will only fully understand as I age and you grow.

There are many things you should know about the family you have been born into.

• From your father you will understand the meaning of how the world behaves, through science, nature and humankind.
• From you mother you will learn what that means to your heart.  From your father you will learn how exciting the world is and who created it and what your place is in it.
• From your mother you will learn how to express that to others.  From your father you will learn the excitement of debating and understanding the important questions of life.
• From your mother you will learn how to listen and be open to each side.  From your father you will learn practical things about fixing things that are broken and completing a project.
• From your mother you will learn to use your love to work with your hands.

Of all the things that your father and mother will teach you out of their own strengths, the most amazing thing you will learn from them is that both can interchange their roles to best help you grow and learn. Above that, together they will teach you love, integrity, honesty, faith and compassion.  I believe you are the most fortunate child to ever be born into this world because of your family. That is fitting, however, because you are also the most special child to be born into this world!

So, listen always and learn well, and you will bring honor to them and yourself.

Welcome to the great outside world.  We are glad you have made it and are doing well.  Your dad says you are a real fighter.  Hopefully you'll get it out of your system now so the two's & teens will be easier on your parents.  We are praying that you will grow big & strong and can come home from the hospital soon.  Listen to the doctors & nurses, take your medicine like a good girl, and at least sit still for diaper changes.  Ask your mom and dad to take pictures every day so they can see your progress through pictures as you grow and eventually leave all those machines & gadgets behind.   When our little boy, Rolf, was in the hospital, we took pictures of him with a teddy bear that was in his bassinett.  During his first year of life we took pictures of him on his monthly birthday with that same bear, now he gets pictures with his bear on his yearly birthday.  He will be eight years old in November and still gets birthday pictures with the bear.  He has sure grown a lot, but you know what, the bear didn't, hmmm.    Rolf was also born early and had to stay in the hospital for a while, but he grew, learned how to breathe on his own, and then learned how to eat, after that he got to come home, and boy were we happy.  One of the best days was when he was about 1 week old and we finally got to hold him.  I'm sure your mom and dad will have many exciting things to look forward to, but right now, just concentrate on doing what the doctors & nurses tell you to do, and don't worry about a thing.   Someday maybe you will come to California with your mom & dad and we will get to meet you, then you and Rolf can swap stories about your hospital stay.  Until then, get better and give mom & dad lots of smiles.

You are only a few days old and you are already a very famous person! Your dad has made sure that all of us who love you because we love him, have been kept abreast of your birth, stay in the hospital and all the many things you are having to go through to get you ready enough to go home.

You are already showing signs of strength. You have very good genes Chloe, your dad's and your mom's and these genes are getting you through these times. Hang in there little one. You are doing great! Soon you will be in your pretty little room with mom and dad next to you.

Auntie Ligia is praying every night for you and she believes in prayer very strongly. Show all the doctors and nurses that you are a "Lewis": strong, determined, smart, and committed to improve more and more each day.

 I will have to get used to being an Uncle from now on and mom a Grandmother.  Life for you now is new and exciting and I'm sure will never be the same.  Thanks for the pictures and wish the best in your Daughters recovery.

Feel free to write about how things are going. hmmm your Daughters name when I first heard it sounded happy and thanks again for calling.

Keep us posted on your latest successes and trial too.  We have you on our refrigerator with all our other friends and keep you in our daily prayers.   Have mom and dad send your address.

I'm a teacher who works with your grandfather Tom :-) I, just like your mommy, gave birth to a beautiful little daughter not long ago. You're a lucky little girl to have so many people who love you & your dad is a remarkable web king ;-) You'll have to give his finger an extra squeeze for putting up your pictures for the world to admire.

God is truly amazing. Every time I see how he creates a new life I am in awe.  I have enjoyed the pictures of you and cannot wait to meet you in person. I am sure God already has a plan for your life. Although you don't know it yet, you have already touched many hearts.

I will pray for you this way: That your body will increase in health and strength. That your mind would increase in wisdom and understanding of God's love. Also that you would inherit your parents faith and develop your own, being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.
